  • For the eighth straight year, CBS has emerged from November sweeps with the top spot in overall viewers. The network is the projected winner with several nights to go, but in the key 18-49 demographic, the results are still too close to call. CBS averaged 11.8 million viewers for the month, followed by ABC (10.5 million), NBC (7.8 million), Fox (7 million) and the CW (2.2 million). CBS is tied with ABC in the 18-49 demo with 3.1, and the winner will likely be determined based on the results for the Dancing With the Stars finale. (The information is from The US Daily.)

  • Captain Paul Watson is the founder of the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, an environmental group which will be trailing Japanese whaling vessels into the Antarctic this December. Last year, Watson said some of the whalers fired live ammunition at the activists, and he had a souvenir to prove it. "I was wearing a bullet-proof vest but the bullet hit my badge (an anti-poaching badge) so I had this bullet," Watson told The West. He gave the bullet to William Petersen (CSI: Crime Scene Investigation's Gil Grissom). "[H]e's one of our supporters."

  • CSI: Miami star Eva La Rue (Natalia Boa Vista) starred in a music video with her daughter, Kaya. "[S]he was really great and totally cooperative," La Rue said of the seven-year-old. "[I]t's like she felt the gravity of the role even though she wants nothing to do with the business." The video also gave La Rue the chance to do an emotional scene. "It's not like I'm doing this kind of stuff on CSI: Miami," she explained. "It took me back to my soap days." The video, "Armed" by Devon Gundry, has a message of prayer and can be viewed below:

  • JEOL's AccuTOF-DART time-of-flight mass spectrometer with open air ionization was introduced in 2005 and has since been used to identify compounds using their molecular weights. The machine was utilized by the Food and Drug Administration to determine that the toxic compound melamine was found in pet food that killed thousands of cats and dogs in the United States last year. The almost-immediate results make the AccuTOF-DART a good fit for a show like CSI, which has featured the machine several times. "CSI has a reputation for instant analysis, and this is about as close as you can get to instant analysis," said Dr Robert B Cody Jr, product manager of JEOL. (Source)

  • Hill Harper (Dr Sheldon Hawkes on CSI: New York) is planning to throw an after-hours party for the presidential inauguration on January 20. With so many celebrities heading to Washington for the inauguration, including regular supporters in the event is a crucial goal. "It's important that the tone remains consistent with the tone of the whole campaign, which is very inclusive," Harper said.

The original information is from The Australian.

  • Contact Music reports that former CSI star Gary Dourdan (Warrick Brown) was set to play the role of the late Phil Lynott in a film about the Thin Lizzy frontman. The remaining members of the band have stopped production of the biopic over concerns that sensationalized drug use in the script overshadowed Lynott's talents as a musician, songwriter and performer. "There was a lot more to Phil and the band than just taking drugs," said guitarist Scott Gorham. "It irritates me that the personal stuff overshadows the musical legacy. You only get one shot at getting a movie right. We won't give it the green light until everyone is happy."

  • Elizabeth Berkley, who plays Horatio Caine's (David Caruso) ex-lover Julia Winston on Miami, is going to appear in a multi-episode arc during the final season of Showtime's The L Word. The actress will play a straight character who is 'the one that got away' from Bette Porter (Jennifer Beals). (Source: Ace Showbiz)

Why can't the CSIs get dates?
All work and no play makes Greg a blue boy.
It probably has something to do with the fact that every time Horatio Caine has sex with a woman, she dies.
Shower sex loses its allure when there's lemons involved.
These people collect body fluids for a living. Then again, if David the coroner can get laid...
They can get dates, I bet. We just don't see it.
Three words: Hank the Skank.
