Sinise: I'm Feeling Good About It

Gary Sinise (Mac Taylor) appreciates the stability of working on CSI: New York and the opportunity it gives him to support American troops.

With season five over, Sinise is looking forward to starting production on season six in July. "It'll be interesting to see what the writers do now," the actor told the National Ledger. "I'm feeling very good about it. I love doing the show and we have a great team of writers."

"I'm involved in so many types of things -- the USO, base trips during the year -- I especially appreciate the security of having a steady job," Sinise continued. "As an actor it gives me the opportunity to do other things. Most actors have to look for a job constantly. I'm talking about qualified, very good actors."

One of the things Sinise does in his time off is perform for the military with his Lt Dan Band, which is "going to do seven or eight shows in Korea and Okinawa in June," the actor shared. He is also working to promote Brothers at War, the documentary he co-produced. As CSI Files previously reported, Brothers shows life for American soldiers in Iraq and at home. "I wish we had an advertising budget, that I can say, but I think the movie has gotten great attention," Sinise said. "It's made it into theaters and it's continuing to open around the country. It will qualify for Oscar consideration. That's terrific for a documentary to do that."

The original interview is from the National Ledger.
