CSI producer Josh Berman's new drama Killer Instinct is set to premiere tonight on Fox.

The show details the chilling stories behind the bizarre and deviant crimes committed by San Francisco's most aberrant criminals – and the detectives whose job it is to stop them. Detective Jack Hale (Johnny Messner) has chosen to be on the front line of the city's toughest division after taking a hiatus from the force when his partner – with whom he had a personal relationship – died in the line of duty. He's joined on the field by Danielle Carter (Kristin Lehman) and Lieutenant Matt Cavanaugh (Chi McBride).

Killer Instinct has received mixed reviews by various critics. Entertainment Weekly gave the show and A and called it, "blissfully weird," while the Palm Beach Post expressed its hope Killer Instinct will survive, saying, "the show has some appeal, mostly because of the hunky, muscle-y Messner." Other critics, however, feared the show might be overlooked by fans due to the large amount of procedural dramas currently on television, while the New York Times worried whether viewers will accept the show's female lead character being replaced after the pilot.

Meanwhile, Ghost Whisperer, starring former CSI star Aisha Tyler (Mia Dickerson), will premiere tonight on CBS. The show revolves around Melinda Gordon (Jennifer Love-Hewitt), a woman who has the unique ability to see and talk to earthbound spirits that seek her help in communicating and resolving unfinished business with the living.

Ghost Whisperer has generated a lot of talk online and in Hollywood. Though the show was recently chosen as one of the few new shows that would survive the season, its constant comparison to the similar Medium isn't doing it favorts. Today the Hollywood Reporter wrote, "Beyond [...] an attractive cast, the appeal is limited. The story in the pilot verges on illogical and emotionally manipulative, particularly when the son of the dead vet accuses Melinda of being a scam artist though she hasn't asked for a penny."

Killer Instinct premieres tonight at 9 p.m. on Fox. Visit the show's official website to learn more about it. Ghost Whisperer, meanwhile, will premiere at 8 p.m. on CBS, which has posted an official site here.

Why can't the CSIs get dates?
All work and no play makes Greg a blue boy.
It probably has something to do with the fact that every time Horatio Caine has sex with a woman, she dies.
Shower sex loses its allure when there's lemons involved.
These people collect body fluids for a living. Then again, if David the coroner can get laid...
They can get dates, I bet. We just don't see it.
Three words: Hank the Skank.
