He may have been passed over for an Emmy nomination, but William Petersen (Gil Grissom) hasn't gone unnoticed by GQ Magazine.

GQ has selected CSI: Crime Scene Investigation's leading actor as a contender for one of its 'Men of the Year' Awards 2003, presented in conjunction with men's cable network and home of CSI reruns, Spike TV. According to Spike TV's web site, the awards will recognise "dude-a-tude" by selecting the "men who spiked 2003".

Petersen is nominated in the 'Television Actor of the Year' category, but he will face some stiff competition from some of the small screen's most recognisable faces. His rivals include fellow crime show stars Michael Chiklis (The Shield), Vincent D'Onofrio (Law & Order: Criminal Intent), Dominic West (The Wire) and Tony Shalhoub, who brings a humourous spin to crime fighting in Monk. These cops, CSIs and detectives are joined by the man who helps to clean up the mess, Peter Krause from Six Feet Under.

There are three other 'Men of the Year' awards that will be presented, for 'Movie Funnyman of the Year', 'Theatre Actor of the Year' and 'Coach of the Year'. Viewers can vote for their choices in all four categories at Spike TV's official web site.

The GQ 'Men of the Year' Awards 2003 will be broadcast on Spike TV at 9:30 p.m. on October 21, 2003. Thanks to the William Petersen Appreciation Page for this!

Why can't the CSIs get dates?
All work and no play makes Greg a blue boy.
It probably has something to do with the fact that every time Horatio Caine has sex with a woman, she dies.
Shower sex loses its allure when there's lemons involved.
These people collect body fluids for a living. Then again, if David the coroner can get laid...
They can get dates, I bet. We just don't see it.
Three words: Hank the Skank.
