David Caruso (Horatio Caine) and Gary Sinise, who plays Mac Taylor, the central character in the upcoming CSI: New York are busy shooting scenes for the CSI: Miami episode, "MIA/NYC-NONSTOP", which will serve as the pilot for the third CSI show.

Isaac Guzman observed a day of the episode's shoot for The New York Daily News. He witnessed Caruso and Sinise chasing a suspect, who took a plunge over a roof. He also noted Sinise's Mac Taylor, sporting a plain, wrinkled brown work coat and slightly worn dress shoes, was somewhat scruffier than Caruso's character.

Melina Kanakaredes, who plays Investigator Stella Bonasera, is looking forward to the unique spin the third show will have on the franchise. "We're going to mix New York's wealth of culture with the CSI concept," she said.

Sinise, a past Oscar nominee, is also looking forward to being involved in a tried and true franchise. "This is such a successful franchise, and I thought this particular version of the show would have a real chance of success," Sinise commented. "Right off the bat, they were going to guarantee a certain amount of episodes that seemed reasonable for me to go to work on it."

Indeed, CBS President Les Moonves has famously predicted that CSI: New York would be the highest rated new show of the Fall 2004 season. The success thusfar of the franchise, coupled with Sinise, have inspired confidence in both Moonves and show creator Anthony Zuiker, who will helm the new show.

Zuicker is heading to New York City tonight and will appear at Barnes & Noble in New York City, at 240 E. 86th St., to promote the new CSI board game as well as the new show. Zuiker is scheduled to be at Barnes & Noble at 7pm.

Why can't the CSIs get dates?
All work and no play makes Greg a blue boy.
It probably has something to do with the fact that every time Horatio Caine has sex with a woman, she dies.
Shower sex loses its allure when there's lemons involved.
These people collect body fluids for a living. Then again, if David the coroner can get laid...
They can get dates, I bet. We just don't see it.
Three words: Hank the Skank.
