Two out of three members of the CSI franchise are airing new episodes this week.

First, on Monday at 10:00pm EST, CSI: Miami finds the team looking into the death of a famous man in "Deep Freeze":

When a sports legend is murdered, the investigation hits a snag when the lab loses the body.

Sam Hill has directed nine episodes of Miami including the season six premiere, "Dangerous Son". Elizabeth Devine has written for all three CSI shows, and her latest episode of Miami was "A Grizzly Murder".

"Deep Freeze" features the following actors and actresses in guest roles:

  • Boti Bliss as Valera
  • David Lee Smith as Rick Stetler
  • Johnny Whitworth as Jake Berkeley
  • Vivan Dugre as Heather Amberson
  • Jessica Szohr as Samantha Barrish
  • Chris William Martin as Rich Caprioto
  • Dale Midkiff as Doug McClain
  • Dina Meyer as Elissa McClain
  • Paul Schulze as Dr. Werner Klein
  • Flex Alexander as Martin Wilson
  • Stana Katic as Rita Sullivan
  • Claire Coffee as Wendy Legassic
  • Lucas Caleb Rooney as Theo Knight
  • Marita De Leon as April Stapleton

Boti Bliss, David Lee Smith, Johnny Whitworth and Jessica Szohr are reprising established recurring characters. Vivan Dugre appeared in "Kill Switch" during Miami's fifth season and is returning in the same role. Chris Martin has also appeared in one previous episode of Miami: this season's "Inside Out". Dale Midkiff appeared in the CSI: Crime Scene Investigation episode "Chaos Theory". Dina Meyer was also on CSI, guest starring in the episode "Swap Meet" during the show's fifth season. Claire Coffee was in the CSI episode "Rashomama. Paul Schulze appeared in the CSI: NY episode "Corporate Warriors".

On Wednesday at 10:00pm EST, CSI: New York airs the highly-promoted Second Life tie-in, "Down the Rabbit Hole":

A woman's murder sends Mac into "Second Life," the internet-based virtual world to track down the killer in both the real and cyber world.

Christine Moore has directed two previous episodes of New York, the latest being season three's "What Schemes May Come". Executive producer Peter Lenkov has written nine episodes of CSI: NY including last season's finale, "Snow Day". The other writer for "Down the Rabbit Hole" is Sam Humphrey. Humphrey has written for New York three times, and his latest episode was the third episode of the current season, "You Only Die Once".

"Down the Rabbit Hole" stars the following guest actors:

  • Robert Joy as Dr. Sid Hammerback
  • Peter Gannon as Doorman
  • Lindsay Pulsipher as Cheryl Duncan
  • Hank Harris as Johnny O'Dell
  • Jonno Roberts as Samson Rowe
  • David Burtka as David King
  • Kam Heskin as Suspect X
  • Jonathan Palmer as Congressman Devane
  • Dylan Bruce as Young Man (Hostage)

AJ Buckley, who plays lab tech Adam Ross, has moved from the recurring cast list to the series regulars. Remaining in the recurring character list is Robert Joy, who returns to play Dr Sid Hammerback for the forty-seventh time. Unlike this week's episode of Miami, none of the guest actors or actresses from "Down the Rabbit Hole" have appeared in the CSI franchise before.

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation will be airing its first repeat on Thursday at 9:00pm EST: "Ending Happy", an episode from season seven. During "Ending Happy", the team must investigate the mysterious death of a former boxer. The man received several injuries in one night, and the team has to figure out which of the attacks ended his life.

"Deep Freeze" and "Down the Rabbit Hole" begin airing October 22 on CBS.

Why can't the CSIs get dates?
All work and no play makes Greg a blue boy.
It probably has something to do with the fact that every time Horatio Caine has sex with a woman, she dies.
Shower sex loses its allure when there's lemons involved.
These people collect body fluids for a living. Then again, if David the coroner can get laid...
They can get dates, I bet. We just don't see it.
Three words: Hank the Skank.
