Corey Miller Gives Insider's Look Into 'Miami' Production

CSI: Miami writer Corey Miller has been keeping a journal of his daily activities while filming Miami episode number 14, "Fade Out," and recently posted it in his online blog.

In the journal, Miller made note of the actors enormous contribution to the show. "I'm always impressed how our actors can shift gears from one episode to the next. There's no break in between them. Yesterday we were shooting the previous episode. So they have little time to digest the new script before we hit the ground running."

The writer didn't reveal much about the episode, only bits about the characters related to the case. Fans can expect the episode to be intense. "I am always partial to interrogation scenes where Horatio sits directly across from a suspect. When he stares someone down, you know they're in a heap of something."

Miller also talked about the little details fans may not think about while watching the episode but can turn out to be interesting little facts. "I work with the Props department to create two handwriting samples which will be analyzed in the Questioned Documents Lab. I have to make sure that in both, my letters look exactly the same, because we will be doing a visual effect where the letters will pull off the page, and meld together as one. So, when you see the prop, that's my handwriting."

The writer also revealed there will be a small reference the show in the form of a movie poster. "Our graphic designed Ryan just showed me movie poster mockups for one of our character's offices, who is a movie producer. I came up with a couple of appropriately-cheesy titles, like Partners In Rhyme and Pain Center, and also threw in two titles that have been a long-running in-joke between Sunil Nayar and I – Prints of Thieves and One Day at a Crime," he said. "Hardcore fans of the show should also take note of two other posters that are prominently displayed. It's a shout-out to a previous episode of Miami."
