Executive Producers Land Showmanship Gong

They've been lauded with numerous Emmy, Golden Globe and Producer's Guild Award nominations, and this week CSI's executive producers gained another feather in their caps from the publicists' union.

Anthony Zuiker, Carol Mendelsohn and Ann Donahue were Tuesday announced as the winners of the 2005 Television Showmanship Award, Hollywood trade paper Variety reported. The gong will be presented at the International Cinematographers Guild's 42nd annual Publicists' Awards Luncheon on February 22, 2005.

Henri Bollinger, chairman of the awards committee, said all three executive producers had excelled in producing and marketing CSI and its spin-offs, CSI: Miami and CSI: New York. "It's unique in the annals of television to have separate producers of different series produced under the same corporate brand achieve this level of success, both in terms of ratings and content quality. They all have a clear understanding of the marketing process."

If their fellow executive producer Jerry Bruckheimer is a notable omission, it's only because he won the 2003 Television Showmanship Award for his work on the CSI franchise as well as his other series, Without a Trace and The Amazing Race. Other previous winners include Gary Marshall (Happy Days, Laverne & Shirley) and David E. Kelley (Picket Fences, The Practice).
