Tonight William Petersen (Gil Grissom) will receive an Illinois Arts Legend Award in Chicago, while Robert David Hall (Dr. Robbins) has just been appointed to the Board of Directors of the National Organization on Disability.

Tonight, the Illinois Arts Alliance Foundation will honor Petersen at their Sixth Annual Illinois Arts Legend Awards ceremony. Held in Chicago at the Museum of Contemporary Arts warehouse, the ceremony honors Petersen as an the Honored Artist of the evening. Norman R. Bobins, the CEO and President of LaSalle Bank, will be receiveing the award for Honored Advocate. Chicago Sun-Times columnist Bill Zwecker is the ceremony's emcee. The black-tie celebration includes a cocktail party and a VIP reception for top contributors. Seats at the ceremony range in price from $250 to $10,000.

In addition to his work on CSI, Petersen is also being acknowledged for his theater work in Chicago. While he lived in the city, he performed at the Steppenwolf Theater (co-founded by CSI: New York star Gary Sinise) and co-founded the Remains Theater Ensemble.

The announcement of Hall's appointment to the Board of Directors of the National Organization on Disability was made recently in the board's regular meeting spot of Washington D.C. by U.S. Newswire. Hall lost both legs in a 1978 car crash, and has since been an advocate for actors with disabilities.

Board chairman Michael R. Deland is happy to have Hall on the board. "We are delighted to have Robert David Hall join the Board and the efforts of the National Organization on Disability," he said. "As a successful actor, he is watched by millions of Americans weekly, people who see him as the embodiment of N.O.D.'s motto, 'It's ability, not disability, that counts.'"
