The hiatus is almost over, and all three CSI shows are going to hit the ground running.

Season six of CSI: Miami will feature a visit from an old friend: Tim Speedle (Rory Cochrane). The unexpected return has not been fully explained, but it will be the first appearance of Cochrane on the show since his character died in 2004. The main surprise of the season, however, involves the show's main character. "Horatio [Caine (David Caruso)] has a son," co-executive producer Sunil Nayar told Entertainment Weekly. "The sixth-season premiere, there'll be three suspects, prison parolees. One of them, you'll discover, is his son." The viewers will follow Horatio as he makes this major discovery. "We're really gonna commit to this theme of fathers and sons," Nayar said.

CSI: New York will begin its fourth season by going big. Creator Anthony Zuiker explained that the "first dead body you're going to see this season is going to be the Statue of Liberty." He did not clarify what it means that the statue is the "first victim" in season four, but he did give a clear explanation about Mac Taylor's (Gary Sinise) return to New York City. The CSI comes back from London in the premiere, but it doesn't stop there. He will also "reveal an interesting secret that launches a high level of drama in the first half of the season," according to Zuiker. The only clue that Zuiker was willing to give about the secret is a riddle: "What I can tell you is, sometimes good things don't come in threes." In other character news, Zuiker said that the relationship between Danny Messer (Carmine Giovinazzo) and Lindsay Monroe (Anna Belknap) would "deepen".

The eighth season of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation will finally provide closure regarding the cliffhanger ending from season seven. "The miniature killer arc will be concluded in the season opener," said executive producer Naren Shankar. The show will also welcome a new character played by Jessica Lucas, who will appear in four episodes. Shankar mentioned the possibility of trading writers with Two and a Half Men for one episode. He then added that the show wants to further explore "the secret life of our lab techs."

These details come from Entertainment Weekly. The new seasons for all three CSI shows will air starting on September 24 with Miami, September 26 for NY and then Vegas will air its first episode on September 27.

Why can't the CSIs get dates?
All work and no play makes Greg a blue boy.
It probably has something to do with the fact that every time Horatio Caine has sex with a woman, she dies.
Shower sex loses its allure when there's lemons involved.
These people collect body fluids for a living. Then again, if David the coroner can get laid...
They can get dates, I bet. We just don't see it.
Three words: Hank the Skank.
