Hello World!

I'm back from Chicago!

Or I was back from Chicago two weeks ago. Laziness is lethal. But anyway, I had a great time with the ladies from the message boards. Honestly, when I heard the Lt. Dan Band was a cover band, I was pessimistic. Nobody wants to hear out-of-tune Hotel California over and over again. But I gotta say, we left very impressed.

First of all, the band played for four hours. That's right. Four. Gary Sinise is twice my age, and yet he jumped around the stage for four hours while I wanted to sit down after 15 minutes. God bless that man's energy. I was hoping he'd sing, but he didn't. That's okay, though, because I left my heart in Chicago with Mari Anne Jayme, one of the band's vocalists. That's right, I almost cheated on my girlcrush Emily Procter. I said almost! She's got an amazing voice, is so energetic and nice. We wish her lots of success!

We tried to get an interview with the band, but the publicist told us they were leaving early in the morning and didn't have the time. She gave us her phone number and hopefully the beautiful Kristine Huntley will be able to get in touch with the band. If she does, expect the interview on the website soon-ish. Meanwhile, we'll be providing you with a review of the concert very soon. In the meantime, visit our thread of adventures to see some of the pictures we've uploaded so far!

CSI Files Two Years Ago

Here's what was hot back in late June of 2003:

  • CSIs Are Too Skinny
Canadian clinical psychologist Barbara Virley two years ago revealed the female characters of CSI are too skinny to be considered healthy. "Among information listed on the personnel profiles page, each fictitious agent's height and weight is posted," Virley wrote to the Ottawa Citizen. "I was saddened to note that, according to this information, the bright, successful women characters (presumably not the actual actors) on the CSI show are also grossly underweight."

  • 'CSI' Charged With Lack Of Directorial Diversity
According to a report conducted by the Directors Guild of America, CSI and Miami were not giving female and minority directors enough jobs. "The report reveals that once again the producers and the networks have failed to fulfill their contractual good faith obligation to hire more women and minority directors," said Martha Coolidge, president of the Directors Guild of America.

  • 'CSI' Plays A Part In Murder Inquiry
When a triple homicide occurred in Brisbane, Australia, the police turned to episodes of CSI to attempt to solve the crime.

Poll Results

Below are the results of the most recent CSI Files poll:

Name that zany lab tech!
David Hodges 62.7% - (243 Votes)
Maxine Valera 23.2% - (90 Votes)
Chad Willingham 13.9% - (54 Votes)

Total Votes: 387

,Thank you for voting in our last poll! For our next survey we'd like to know: which traumatic childhood event is the most horrific?,

Why can't the CSIs get dates?
All work and no play makes Greg a blue boy.
It probably has something to do with the fact that every time Horatio Caine has sex with a woman, she dies.
Shower sex loses its allure when there's lemons involved.
These people collect body fluids for a living. Then again, if David the coroner can get laid...
They can get dates, I bet. We just don't see it.
Three words: Hank the Skank.

Today's Television Listings

  • Tonight, CBS will air a repeat of the CSI: Miami episode, "Pro Per". Here's a brief description of the episode:

"A woman is killed during a posh party at an exclusive waterfront estate when a man opens fire on the proceedings from a cigarette boat. When a former con is arrested, he acts as his own lawyer and proves to be smarted than he appears. Complicating matters is the fact that the leading witness in the case is the dead woman's 10-year-old son, whom Horatio wants to protect, refusing to let him testify."

  • On Wednesday night at 10/9c, CBS will air CSI: New York's "A Man A Mile". Here's a preview:

"Mac and Danny investigate the death of a construction worker who died 700 feet below Manhattan during an underground explosion. While investigating the death of Pete Riggs, the CSIs meet the "Sandhogs," a union of construction workers who build the city's underground tunnels. When Mac and Danny find an empty inhaler at the excavation site and the autopsy results reveal that Riggs died from asthmatic asphyxiation before the explosion, the team realizes that the victim was intentionally left underground. Meanwhile, Stella and Aiden examine the death of a 16-year-old who was found strangled and floating in a creek."

  • Another one of CSI's syndicated episodes will also air on Thursday night at 9/8c. Here's a description of "No Humans Involved":

"Tension rises as the CSI teams adjust to their new assignments while investigating two vastly different murders. Grissom and his team hunt for a killer after discovering the remains of a young boy starved to death and left in a plastic container. Meanwhile, Catherine assumes her new role as supervisor and quickly finds herself at odds with Warrick when he takes an overly aggressive approach in an investigation involving possible police brutality."

  • Also, look for a rerun of the CSI: New York episode "Hush" on Saturday night at 9/8c on CBS. If you missed it the first time, here's a brief synopsis:

"Mac and Stella are called to a crime scene for a truck jacking and instead discover the crushed lower half of a body. The team must stop operations on the busy dock to find the other half among the containers. In a rare occurrence, the reclusive Dr. Hawkes leaves the medical examiner’s office to help with the retrieval."

In addition, Spike TV will be repeating CSI episodes at least twice daily for the rest of the week. A full listing of their upcoming episodes can be found here at SpikeTV.com.
