A figure runs through the woods near West Las Vegas University wearing only a bra and panties. But it's not a woman--it's a young man, a fraternity pledge. He's being chased by a group of older fraternity members, and sure enough, it's not long before he trips. But he gets more than he bargained for when he falls into a pile of woodchips and quickly finds himself covered in maggots in the upcoming CSI: Crime Scene Investigation episode "What's Eating Gil Grissom?"

CSI Files sources recently revealed details about the sixth episode of CSI's fifth season. There's really only one man to call to the scene: Las Vegas's leading forensic entomologist, Gil Grissom. Eva Sontag, a professor of Agriculture at WLVU. Grissom is enthralled. There's no reason for that many maggots to converge unless there's dead flesh for them to feed upon. Sontag tells Grissom the university produces its own mulch, but answers in the negative when he asks her if scraps of food from the dining hall are used as compost. When Grissom uncovers a tooth, he knows he has a murder investigation on his hands.

Nick joins Grissom at the scene, and together the two sift through the mess of maggots and mulch. They don't find any flesh, but Nick uncovers several white chunks--bone matter--the same size as the university-produced wood chips.

Grissom heads to the poltical plant and questions Walkter Beerly, a plant worker, about the wood chipper. Beerly replies that indeed the wood chipper could make quick work of a human body. Grissom spritzes the wood chipper and finds faint traces of blood in it.

Catherine and Nick head to the Omega Zeta Pi fraternity house, where they question Roger, the fraternity's president, about the pledges. He notes that one of them, Jonathan Avery Blake III, has been missing for the past week, but the boys assumed he'd gone off with a girl. Catherine requests Blake's toothbrush and hairbrush. Just then several of the pledges come in. Nick notices one of them has blue paint on his hands.

The pledge tells Nick where he got the paint on his hand; he touched a wet blue railing on campus. Grissom and Nick races there. Grissom is noticeably upset--he recognizes the handywork of the Blue Paint killer, who last eluded the team in "The Execution of Catherine Willows". Now, the killer is clearly back, and he's claimed yet another victim, a pretty college co-ed...

Please note that these plot details have not yet been confirmed by CBS, Alliance Atlantis or Bruckheimer Films and until such time you should treat this information as you would any other rumour. The information comes from an early draft of the script and aspects of the episode may change before it goes to air.

"What's Eating Gil Grissom?" will likely air during November sweeps.

Why can't the CSIs get dates?
All work and no play makes Greg a blue boy.
It probably has something to do with the fact that every time Horatio Caine has sex with a woman, she dies.
Shower sex loses its allure when there's lemons involved.
These people collect body fluids for a living. Then again, if David the coroner can get laid...
They can get dates, I bet. We just don't see it.
Three words: Hank the Skank.
