Hello World!

Wow...by the time I next write this column, Chanukah will be over, and it hasn't even started yet. My entertainment schedule for the rest of the month:

See Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World one more time, probably tomorrow. Because if the last Lord of the Rings weren't opening in two days (TWO DAYS!), M&C would be far and away my favorite movie of the year.

See Return of the King at 10 a.m. on Wednesday. Bring lots of tissues. Spend the rest of the day being a basket case.

See Return of the King again on Sunday, this time with the kids. (If younger son stil won't watch the Dead Marshes after seeing The Two Towers nine times, what are the chances that he will not be in my lap during the Paths of the Dead?)

See Peter Pan on Christmas. This is what Jews do on Christmas whenever possible -- go to the movies. Try not to root too obviously for Captain Hook as played by Jason Isaacs...ah, heck, I rooted for him as Lucius Malfoy, I may as well root for him against the kiddies here.

Do I want to see Cold Mountain? Someone tell me after seeing it. Thanks.
