  • Yahoo!News reports that CSI: Miami's new Monday night rival, NBC's LAX debuted to solid numbers, drawing 13 million viewers on September 13th against a rerun of Miami. The real showdown comes next week, when Miami's third season premiere airs.

  • Aaron at TV Barn has released his breakdown of the fall 2004 shows and he placed CSI: New York in the "OK" category. "We can’t figure out how CBS honcho Les Moonves got Gary Sinise to agree to spend the next 10 years of his life examining corpses," Aaron mused, but predicted the show could possibly beat out a Jerry Orbach-less Law & Order and would likely be renewed by Christmas.

  • TV Guide has a short blurb about CSI: New York in their Fall 2004 preview section. It describes the junior cast as "younger, brasher associates" and notes that Dr. Sheldon Hawkes (Hill Harper) is former surgeon who gave up his practice after the deaths of two patients.

  • Anyone who doubts CSI is having a cultural impact need look no futher than Hollywood.com's article on TV Buzzwords. It list's CSI's term "infectious diseases" among phrases like Donald Trump's "You're fired!" and the infamous "wardrobe malfunction" from Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake's notorious Superbowl performance.

  • The Sopranos is the odds-on favorite to take home the Best Drama Emmy this year according to Backstage.com. Though The West Wing has been the champ for four years in a row, Hollywood producers are predicting the Mafia drama will best the political drama, CSI, 24 andJoan of Arcadia to take home the trophy.

  • Jorja Fox: Online has posted two new publicity shots of Jorja Fox (Sara Sidle) from the 5th season of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.
