  • The Mondo Hollywood blog yesterday posted a video interview with Gary Sinise (Mac Taylor), in which the CSI: NY actor discussed his program for Iraqi children and what it's like to be pigeon-holed in Hollywood.

  • MargHelgenberger.com has posted a scan of a trade ad taken out by Alliance Atlantis to congratule CSI: Crime Scene Investigation on winning the 2006 People's Choice Award for Best Drama Series.

  • CSI keeps inspiring young people to embark on a career in forensics. The Bonita News last week featured Cheryl Johnson, a 16-year old high school sophomore who recently became the youngest person ever to become a certified scientific interviewer and interrogator after taking a criminal forensics study class at Florida Gulf Coast University. Johnson was inspired by an episode of CSI that featured interrogation techniques to build a school project around experiments on lie detection.

  • But the popularity of CSI also has a downside. The AP (via ABC News) recently ran an article on the effect shows like CSI and Law & Order have on real-life jurors. "What we're doing is entertaining," CSI: Miami showrunner Ann Donahue said in the article. "It's like a medical show. When you go to the hospital, you're not going to find that doctor you see on TV."

  • Over at the JFO, two photos are available of Jorja Fox (Sara Sidle) attending a concert of the Dead Rebels.

  • Variety Thursday reported that Antoine Fugua has signed on to direct the pilot for Vanished, the new drama series that CSI executive producer Josh Berman is creating for Fox.

  • Punk band the Dollyrots will soon be making an appearance on CSI: New York. According to PunkNews.org, in an upcoming episode they will be performing their songs "Kick Me To The Curb" and "Goodnight Tonight."

  • In a rant complaining about the abundance of special crossover episodes these days, TV Squad writer Jonathan Toomey praised last year's CSI: Miami / CSI: New York crossover as one that actually made sense.

  • Just in time for the release of his new film Glory Road, the Denver Post has posted a profile of super-producer Jerry Bruckheimer. "His output is amazing, and to consistently deliver quality projects speaks to his ability as a finder," the paper quoted industry analyst Tom Meyer as saying, making him one of many people to praise Bruckheimer in the article. "Think how much times have changed since Flashdance or Top Gun, to Amazing Race and Pirates of the Caribbean. What sets him apart is longevity and volume. Other people tend to be more successful in just one medium or another."

  • According to the European CSI Forum, Swedish broadcaster Channel 5 started showing the fourth season of CSI: Miami on Saturday the 14th of January.

  • It's too late for this year, as Eddie Cahill (Don Flack) is celebrating his birthday today, but fan site Behind Blue Eyes is solliciting ideas for a 2007 birthday project for the CSI: NY actor.

  • David Caruso Online has new screencaps of the CSI: Miami episode "The Score."

  • Texan Charm is a new fan page for George Eads (Nick Stokes). Thanks go out to Elyse's for the tip!

Why can't the CSIs get dates?
All work and no play makes Greg a blue boy.
It probably has something to do with the fact that every time Horatio Caine has sex with a woman, she dies.
Shower sex loses its allure when there's lemons involved.
These people collect body fluids for a living. Then again, if David the coroner can get laid...
They can get dates, I bet. We just don't see it.
Three words: Hank the Skank.
