The doors to the E.R. burst open, and a woman is wheeled in by paramedics. It's Calleigh, and she's been shot in the shoulder. A distressed Horatio Caine is with her, blood staining his shirt, but he's unharmed. He has to discover who shot Calleigh in the upcoming CSI: Miami episode "Officer Down."

According to CSI Files sources, Horatio's search leads him to Andrew Zeller, a man he investigated a year before in connection with the death of Max Reuben. Horatio wasn't able to prove Andrew killed him, and so Andrew, a rich, spoiled young man who believes he's untouchable, arrogantly dismisses Horatio's questions. He dares Horatio to prove he's the one who shot Calleigh.

Calleigh is determined not to let her injury affect her job. The very day after she's been shot, she's back working a case with Speedle. Speedle is concerned about her, but she insists she's fine.

Calleigh and Speedle are investigating the murder of a young woman named Maria Nasar, who was shot in the heart. They go to the restaurant where Maria worked as a waitress, and talk to Isabel Vicario, another waitress. She tells them Maria was fired by the manager, Jorge Daza, with whom she used to argue bitterly.

Calleigh and Speedle take Daza in for questioning, but he tells them that he never fired Maria--she quit. It seems that Maria had plans to open her own restaurant. When Calleigh suggests this is a possible motive for murder, Daza tells them he was working Maria's shift at the restaurant when she was killed.

Horatio and Delko go to an abandoned hotel where drug dealers and junkies hole up. When they come across a fleeing man, he pulls a gun on them and aims at Horatio...

Please note that the above plot details have not been confirmed by CBS, Alliance Atlantis or Bruckheimer Films, and until such time you should treat this information as you would any other rumour. The above information comes from an early draft of the script and details may change before the episode goes to air.

"Officer Down" will likely air in early 2004.

Why can't the CSIs get dates?
All work and no play makes Greg a blue boy.
It probably has something to do with the fact that every time Horatio Caine has sex with a woman, she dies.
Shower sex loses its allure when there's lemons involved.
These people collect body fluids for a living. Then again, if David the coroner can get laid...
They can get dates, I bet. We just don't see it.
Three words: Hank the Skank.
