  • Slate's Dana Stevens has written an article on the "dumpy heartthrob" qualities of William Petersen (Gil Grissom). The article also includes an interview with a hardcore CSI fan who writes fan fiction dealing with Grissom's sexual side.

  • The Lifestyle section of Thursday's USA Today included an extensive interview with Emily Procter on the way she's decorated her home. "Calleigh's is probably more of a streamlined modern home," Procter said, when asked to compare her own taste to that of her character."What I know from my (female) friends who are cops is they keep their houses very clean, because they say you never know if you're coming back or not." Thanks go out to Al Forno for this!

  • Wondering how Anthony Zuiker came up with the name of Horatio Caine? According to a Boston Globe article on TV character names, the CSI creator picked the name because it "pop cultural, and even biblical associations -- of the socially motivated Horatio Alger, of Hamlet's rational friend Horatio, of the unflappable 'Kung Fu monk Kwai Chang Caine, of Abel's brother."

  • This weekend, both David Caruso (Horatio Caine) and Adam Rodriguez (Eric Delko) will be present at the 12th annual Dodge VolleyPalooza Model Volleyball Challenge in Florida. Details can be found at SouthFlorida.com.

  • Tonight at 8pm Eastern Time, HBO will be premiering Lackawanna Blues, a movie version of what was originally a one-man play about the civil rights movement. Hill Harper (Dr. Sheldon Hawkes) has one of the starring roles in the film. A review can be found here at the San Jose Mercury News.

  • John Patterson, who directed the second-season original CSI episode "And Then There Were None," passed away last Monday at the age of 64. The Indy Star has posted an obituary of the television director, who during his long career had directed many crime shows, including the pilot episode of the original Law & Order, and several episodes of The Sopranos.

  • The official web site of the British CSI Magazine has posted a preview of issue 5, which will be available in UK stores within a few weeks. In addition to a collectible DVD featuring the episodes "Unfriendly Skies" and "Sex, Lies and Larvae," the magazine will include articles on DNA analysis, mob violence and insects and investigations, and a look at the American police's tread database.

  • Campus Live, a Christian magazine for teens, in its latest issue dealt with the issue of whether it was right to watch the three CSI shows. The conclusion Mark Matlock reached in his advice column was that, yes, it is, unless the blood and the gore makes you feel uncomfortable, or you feel you're getting less compassionate by watching the show.

  • The JFO has posted ten photos of Jorja Fox (Sara Sidle) attending the Screen Actors Guild awards ceremony.

  • The JFO also notes that on April 26, Warner will be releasing the third season of ER on DVD. This season featured Jorja Fox as Dr. Maggie Doyle.

  • And for our final bit of Jorja Fox news, this week's People Magazine reports that the statuette Fox received at the SAG awards was stolen at the afterparty. The police are currently trying to recover Fox's award. Thanks go out to Lysette van Erp for this!

  • Photos of the SAG awards are also available at MargHelgenberger.net, this set focusing mostly on the Catherine Willows actress.

  • USA Networks' dog show analyst David Frei told the Press-Telegram that CSI: New York's "ReCycling," featuring a death caused by someone taking dog medicine, was "quite an exaggeration." Thanks go out to Elyse's for this!

  • GarySinise.com has launched a campaign to try and convince Warner Brothers Home Video to release George Wallace on DVD, the miniseries for which Gary Sinise (Mac Taylor) won an emmy in 1998. Information can be found on GarySinise.com's news page. Meanwhile, the fan site is also auctioning off an autographed VHS copy of Forrest Gump on eBay.

Why can't the CSIs get dates?
All work and no play makes Greg a blue boy.
It probably has something to do with the fact that every time Horatio Caine has sex with a woman, she dies.
Shower sex loses its allure when there's lemons involved.
These people collect body fluids for a living. Then again, if David the coroner can get laid...
They can get dates, I bet. We just don't see it.
Three words: Hank the Skank.
