CBS has released the official details for the two new CSI episodes airing this week.

First up is this week's CSI: Miami instalment, "Murder in a Flash", in which the CSIs investigate the murder of a high school student found dead on a golf course following a so-called flash mob. Below is CBS's official description of the episode, which airs tonight at 10:00pm:

E-mails and text messages trigger a mass gathering of students to perform a random task on a golf course; however, as the crowd disperses, the body of a high school student is found. The original message triggering the "flash mob" is traced to a high school senior whose father is a high-powered defense attorney. However, the case changes direction when Horatio and the team learn that the schoolmaster's daughter may have had something to do with the murder and evidence reveals that the victim was having an affair with his chemistry teacher.

The episode was directed by Fred Keller, also already responsible for "Pro Per" two weeks ago. The episode's writers were Miami consulting producer Anne McGrail and co-producer Sunil Nayar, who has previously written "Innocent" and "Complications".

"Under the Flash" will feature the following guest actors, with previous credits or CSI appearances in brackets:

  • Brian Poth as Tyler Jensen
  • Boti Bliss as Valera
  • Cristian de la Fuente as Sam Belmontes
  • Andrew St. John as Danny Klein (General Hospital)
  • Finn Wittrock as Chad Van Horn (Cold Case pilot)
  • David Marshall Grant as Phillip Brooks (The Stepford Wives [2004], thirtysomething, Law & Order)
  • Sam Huntington as Justin Gillespie (Law & Order, Not Another Teen Movie)
  • Teal Redmann as Sarah Mitchell (Gilmore Girls)
  • Don Fischer as Golfer #1 (Profiler, NYPD Blue)
  • Tim Kelleher as Security Guard Burns ("Paper or Plastic", Dark Skies)
  • Kate Mara as Stephanie Brooks (Nip/Tuck, Cold Case)
  • Jack Coleman as Martin Gillespie (Kingdom Hospital)
  • Lorena York as Madonna Arias
  • Amanda Detmer as Marie Mancini
  • Douglas Spain as Raul Arias (Star Trek: Voyager, Band of Brothers)
  • Francesco Quinn as Fidel Barroso (JAG, 24)
  • Tim Abell as Donny Slater (American Masseuse, Sexual Roulette, Illicit Dreams 2)

On Wednesday, a new CSI: New York was supposed to air. However, due to the third presidential debate, the show will be pre-empted this week. Mac Taylor and his New York CSIs will return on the 20th of October with "Grand Master".

Airing as normal this week is CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. Unfortunately, CBS has not yet released creative staff or guest cast information for this week's episode, "Harvest", only the following synopsis:

Grissom and his crew investigate the kidnapping of a 12-year old girl taken from a convenience-store parking lot while her older sister is inside. The case hits the CSIs hard and Catherine even harder after Lindsey is picked up by police for hitchhiking. Back in the lab, Greg's latest replacement attracts Warrick's attention but her eccentric personality could be a problem.

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation airs on Thursday at 9:00pm.

Why can't the CSIs get dates?
All work and no play makes Greg a blue boy.
It probably has something to do with the fact that every time Horatio Caine has sex with a woman, she dies.
Shower sex loses its allure when there's lemons involved.
These people collect body fluids for a living. Then again, if David the coroner can get laid...
They can get dates, I bet. We just don't see it.
Three words: Hank the Skank.
