  • Anthony Zuiker told Entertainment Weekly that CSI has "the biggest surprise in the franchise's history by the end of the premiere," adding that viewers should pay particular attention to the last frame. "Our theme this year is 'Assume nothing'...there's a surprise around every corner."

  • William Petersen is one of several Chicago-bred celebrities interviewed by Sports Illustrated for an article entitled "Hey, Chicago Wait Till This Year", about rising hopes about the White Sox and Cubs:
I sit here in Los Angeles and it's just a wasteland. In Chicago you have elements to contend with. Here it's 76 degrees, it's perfect. And you know what? It sucks.

  • The September 13-19 Canadian TV Guide (via Elyse's CSI Site) reports that next season,
...with Sara's crush on Grissom, well, crushed, expect to see him chasing her, creating a love triangle with smitten Greg. Also, a new position will open up at the unit - watch for some friendly competition among the crew...in other words, heavy on the fascinating cases, easy on the character development.

  • Also via Elyse's site, a report from Matt Roush's TV Guide column about Grissom-Sidle romance rumors. Roush said that "if this is why you're tuning in CSI, I think you're destined to be disappointed no matter who you want Gil to lean on, hug, kiss, whatever. (My mail favors Gil and Catherine, no question about it. Very little support for Gil and Sara.)"

  • The Star's September 16th issue has an article on page 18 entitled "CSI Stars - They've Triumphed Over Tragedy", with photos of Petersen, Marg Helgenberger, Jorja Fox and Gary Dourdan, discussing the end of Petersen's first marriage, Helgenberger's mother's brush with breast cancer and the murder of Dourdan's brother. Thanks once more to Elyse!
