Khandi Alexander, Rex Linn, Emily Proctor and Jonathon Togo recently answered some tough questions about their show’s home city, David Caruso, working on a procedural and where they’d like to see their characters go this season.

There is a commonality to the responses given when asked their favorite thing to do in Miami. For Khandi Alexander, it’s walking along the beach. For Emily Proctor, it’s all things beach-related and for Jonathon Togo it’s going to the pool. “There’s so much toplessness that goes on at the pool, it’s insane,” he says. Only Rex Linn stands alone in his response – dining out. “Miami has one of the best restaurant scenes on the planet.”

They also dished about the star of the show, David Caruso. What doesn’t the public know about Caruso? Alexander and Proctor both cite Caruso’s sense of humor. Togo praises his work ethic and Linn seconds that, saying, “You don’t come to work unprepared. Your ass better be prepared because he knows your lines. If we’ve got seven people in a scene, he knows everyone’s lines.”

Some feel actors on procedurals are stifled. These actors don’t seem to feel that way. Alexander feels her role shows we’ve come a long way since Quincy and Linn mentions that the show will get more character-driven this season. Only Togo’s response hints at stifling. “If anything, there is a sort of ‘Groundhog Day’ nature to the shows because they follow a formula that’s tried and true. Your function is to help be a conduit for the story to the audience -- the solving of the crime.”

Why can't the CSIs get dates?
All work and no play makes Greg a blue boy.
It probably has something to do with the fact that every time Horatio Caine has sex with a woman, she dies.
Shower sex loses its allure when there's lemons involved.
These people collect body fluids for a living. Then again, if David the coroner can get laid...
They can get dates, I bet. We just don't see it.
Three words: Hank the Skank.
