CSI:Miami Actors Interrogated

Khandi Alexander, Rex Linn, Emily Proctor and Jonathon Togo recently answered some tough questions about their shows home city, David Caruso, working on a procedural and where theyd like to see their characters go this season.
There is a commonality to the responses given when asked their favorite thing to do in Miami. For Khandi Alexander, its walking along the beach. For Emily Proctor, its all things beach-related and for Jonathon Togo its going to the pool. Theres so much toplessness that goes on at the pool, its insane, he says. Only Rex Linn stands alone in his response dining out. Miami has one of the best restaurant scenes on the planet.
They also dished about the star of the show, David Caruso. What doesnt the public know about Caruso? Alexander and Proctor both cite Carusos sense of humor. Togo praises his work ethic and Linn seconds that, saying, You dont come to work unprepared. Your ass better be prepared because he knows your lines. If weve got seven people in a scene, he knows everyones lines.
Some feel actors on procedurals are stifled. These actors dont seem to feel that way. Alexander feels her role shows weve come a long way since Quincy and Linn mentions that the show will get more character-driven this season. Only Togos response hints at stifling. If anything, there is a sort of Groundhog Day nature to the shows because they follow a formula thats tried and true. Your function is to help be a conduit for the story to the audience -- the solving of the crime.
