  • The Herald Sun reported Australia's Channel 9 has decided to move its home-grown drama series, Stingers, to 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday nights. The show will be replaced in its original 9:30 p.m. timeslot by repeats of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.

  • Steve McPherson, ABC's entertainment president, recently joked about the network's decision to pass on CSI. McPherson said he called Jerry Bruckheimer and "told him how much we [ABC] want to get back in business with him and then I asked for CSI back."   • Backstage.com has a report on films and television shows set in New York. The article remarks that CSI: New York, like NYPD Blue, shoots mostly in Los Angeles and travels to the Big Apple only for location shoots.

  • The Calgary Sun has posted a brief preview of the Emmys, indicating that CSI: Crime Scene Investigation is likely to figure among the Outstanding Drama Series nominees.

  • The Australian town of Geelong now has a crime scene investigation unit to assist police officers, according to GeelongInfo.com. Dubbed "Operation Clarendon", the new initiative is designed to allow police officers to move on to other cases while the criminalists examine the forensic evidence.
