The weirdest thing about the mysterious murder Mac Taylor investigates in the upcoming episode "Cool Hunter" isn't its circumstances, but its similarities to a previous case.

According to CSI Files sources, this new episode begins with the discovery of a body in a water tower. Stacie Avila was a doorman for one of New York's most luxurious buildings, and her death has Mac and Lindsay looking at the tenants for suspects. An autopsy reveals the finding of two different semen samples in Stacie's body, leading Mac to believe this could all just be a crime of passion.

Mac talks to Joe, the man Stacie had been seeing. Joe admits he knew about Stacie's affairs - the day before, he found a used condom in her apartment. The couple argued, and the fight ended with her slamming the door in Joe's face. It was the last time he saw her. Joe's confession seems convincing, but Mac decides to keep a close eye on him anyway.

Back at the lab, the CSIs prod into Stacie's life to find out she used to have a daughter, a 13-year-old girl named Gina, who died in the same building where Stacie now works. Gina was visiting a friend when she began to choke. Her friend's parents called the only doctor in the building, but he couldn't save her life. The most unbelievable part of the story is that Stacie died not only in the same building as Gina, but the same date as well. The tenants think the building is cursed or haunted, but Mac is a man of science, not faith. Could this be just a coincidence? To solve Stacie's murder, the CSIs will first have to solve Gina's.

Elsewhere, Danny and Stella investigate the death of Ben Hatfield, whose possessions reveal something about who he was. Ben is found with countless candid pictures of a woman, leading the CSIs to believe Ben was a stalker. They talk to Jennifer Rodriguez, the woman in the pictures, but Jennifer never knew someone was taking pictures of her. She doesn't like this. Stella shows Jennifer another one of the pictures and in it, Jennifer is with a man. But she claims she doesn't really know who he is, he was just a guy who wanted to buy her a cup of coffee. Stella leaves Jennifer her card and makes her promise to call if she sees this mysterious man again.

Danny and Stella believe they may have a case of stalker vs. stalker, but that changes, however slightly, when they discover Ben was only "studying" Jennifer. As it turns out, it was Ben's job to find "stylemakers," people whose unique looks could be taken by companies to create cool trends in clothes and styles. Jennifer's unusual look made her a perfect case study. The weirdest part about this is Ben wasn't the only style hunter – it seems the man in the pictures was also interested in Jennifer's look. Could Ben have been killed by this competition? Stella and Danny must find the man in the pictures to figure that out.

Please note that the above plot details have not been confirmed by CBS, Alliance Atlantis or Bruckheimer Films, and until such time you should treat this information as you would any other rumour. The above information comes from early script drafts and the details and the airing order of the episodes are liable to change before the episodes are shown.

"Cool Hunter" will most likely air during March of 2006 on CBS.

Why can't the CSIs get dates?
All work and no play makes Greg a blue boy.
It probably has something to do with the fact that every time Horatio Caine has sex with a woman, she dies.
Shower sex loses its allure when there's lemons involved.
These people collect body fluids for a living. Then again, if David the coroner can get laid...
They can get dates, I bet. We just don't see it.
Three words: Hank the Skank.
