The writers' strike is taking its toll on the franchise as CSI: Crime Scene Investigation airs its final new episode.

On Monday at 10:00pm EST, CSI: Miami starts out the week with the only repeat in the franchise. "Dangerous Son" was the season six premiere and found Horatio dealing with the unexpected news that he had a son. A dead parole officer lead the team on a chase to find the murderer and catch Kyle Harmon before he made a fatal mistake.

CSI: New York mixes fantasy with reality in "Happily Never After" on Wednesday at 10:00pm EST:

Mac and the team investigate when a much-hated hotel owner is found buried beneath a New York ice sculpture, and a school bus driver accidentally hits a woman walking down the highway in her nightgown.

Marshall Adams has directed one previous episode of New York: season three's "Cold Reveal". Daniele Nathanson has written four episodes of the show in addition to "Happily Never After", and her latest episode prior to this one was "Boo" from earlier this season. Noah Nelson has one previous writing credit for CSI: NY: last season's "Some Buried Bones".

"Happily Never After" stars the following guest actors and actresses:

  • Robert Joy as Dr. Sid Hammerback
  • Emmanuelle Vaugier as Det. Jessica Angell
  • Ryan Adams as Dave
  • Ahna O'Reilly as Halie
  • Hannah Sussman as Fiona Chisolm
  • Leah Rachel as Phoebe Wright
  • Tony Donno as Bus Driver
  • Katie Carr as Tina Connor
  • Matt Battaglia as Hayden Green
  • Joshua Lebar as Michael Wright
  • Cole Williams as Bryce Arnett
  • Robert Cicchini as Felix Hester
  • Kevin G. Schmidt as Trevor Bennet

Robert Joy and Emmanuelle Vaugier are reprising established roles on the show. Matt Battaglia was in the CSI: Miami episode "Curse of the Coffin". Robert Cicchini has also been in the franchise before, playing Mr Daluca in the CSI: Crime Scene Investigation episode "4 x 4".

Thursday finds CSI: Crime Scene Investigation airing "Bull", the final episode written before the writers' strike began, at 9:00pm EST:

The CSIs investigate two murders during the annual bull riding rodeo in Vegas that may be connected to illegal bull breeding.

Richard J. Lewis has directed 38 previous episodes of CSI, the latest being this season's "The Chick Chop Flick Shop". Steven Felder co-wrote the story for this episode. He is credited as a producer for 49 episodes of the show, but this is the first episode where he is given writing credit. David Rambo co-wrote the story with Felder and wrote the teleplay himself. This is Rambo's thirteenth writing credit for CSI, and his previous episodes include "The Case of the Cross-Dressing Carp".

The following guest-stars will appear in "Bull":

David Berman, Archie Kao and Liz Vassey are reprising established roles. Professional rodeo cowboy Ty Murray, singer Jewel and country performer Shooter Jennings are guest-starring as themselves. James Hirouki Liao has previously appeared on CSI as Erik Hong in "Law of Gravity" last season. Colin Kim is returning as Officer Choi after his appearance in "The Case of the Cross-Dressing Carp". Eric Pierpont appeared in the CSI: Miami episode "Nothing to Lose". Shane Conrad was also on Miami, playing a reporter in two episodes, the latest being "Inside Out". Adding to the actors who have previously appeared on Miami is Chuck Hittinger, who was in "Come as You Are".

The rerun of "Dangerous Son", "Happily Never After" and "Bull" begin airing January 7 on CBS.

Why can't the CSIs get dates?
All work and no play makes Greg a blue boy.
It probably has something to do with the fact that every time Horatio Caine has sex with a woman, she dies.
Shower sex loses its allure when there's lemons involved.
These people collect body fluids for a living. Then again, if David the coroner can get laid...
They can get dates, I bet. We just don't see it.
Three words: Hank the Skank.
