CSI Files sources today provided detailed information about CSI: Miami's special 90-minute February sweeps episode, entitled "Nothing To Lose".

The episode will reportedly open with the discovery of a dead body in the Everglades just outside Miami. Delko and Alexx are at the scene, where they find a bullet-riddled corpse is missing its head. That particular body part has been claimed as a trophy by a nearby alligator, which is keeping the head squarely between its jaws. The CSIs have only limited time to retrieve the head from the alligator, as a storm seems to be heading their way. Fortunately, Fish and Game agents are on hand to tackle the gator, which they do just as a dry lightning storm bursts into action around them. As the lightning strikes the ground, it sets the Everglades aflame, forcing Alexx, Delko and the agents to run for their lives!

The Everglades fire soon spirals out of control and every available fire truck in the county is called in, including an inmate crew from the Dade County Municipal Prison. Unbeknownst to the other firefighters, one of the inmates is convicted killer Scott Kendrick, one of Miami's most notorious murderers, who is in jail awaiting his final sentencing. He soon gives the fire crew the slip, killing one of his fellow inmates in the process.

Of course, a dangerous felon such as Scott Kendrick was never meant to be on firefighting detail. On a visit to to the prison, Horatio and Detective Tripp discover he switched places with Cyrus Templeton, a businessman who was locked away for contempt of court. Templeton's nine-year-old son had been molested by movie star Ben Radcliffe, and when the actor was acquitted, he threatened the judge and Radcliffe with a gun. Horatio is convinced Templeton swapped places with Kendrick so the murderer could escape and fulfill Templeton's deepest desire — shoot Ben Radcliffe.

Meanwhile, Calleigh and Ryan are on the case of the corpse with the severed head. A car belonging to a female university student, Pam Carter, is pulled out of the Everglades near where the body was found, and the CSIs pay her a visit. She tells them she lent the car to her boyfriend, Jeff. Calleigh shows her a photo of the dead man and asks if it was her boyfriend. Pam says it's not Jeff, but his fraternity brother David. If the same fate befell Jeff, the CSIs may have another body in the Everglades.

Things soon go from bad to worse for Horatio. Scott Kendrick has killed again, this time murdering a female journalist covering the fires and stealing her car. His destination? Ben Radcliffe's house. Horatio and Delko rush over there, with Alexx following in her Medical Examiner's van. They're too late — the movie star is dead. Shot. But the house is covered in blood drops, and they don't belong to Radcliffe. Scott Kendrick soon turns up at Alexx's van, holding a gun to her head and demanding medical attention...

Please note that the above plot details have not been confirmed by CBS, Alliance Atlantis or Bruckheimer Films, and until such time you should treat this information as you would any other rumour. The above information comes from early script drafts and the details and the airing order of the episodes are liable to change before the episodes are shown.

"Nothing To Lose" is scheduled to air in February, 2005.

Why can't the CSIs get dates?
All work and no play makes Greg a blue boy.
It probably has something to do with the fact that every time Horatio Caine has sex with a woman, she dies.
Shower sex loses its allure when there's lemons involved.
These people collect body fluids for a living. Then again, if David the coroner can get laid...
They can get dates, I bet. We just don't see it.
Three words: Hank the Skank.
