CBS today premiered the promo for next week's New York episode "The Closer".

In this episode, the team examines the murder of an avid Boston Red Sox fan found dead with a ruptured spleen following a tough loss against New York. Danny must put his baseball skills to the test to piece together the evidence as the CSIs try to find out how and why he was murdered. Meanwhile, after testifying in a murder trial, Mac is confronted by the defendant, Quinn Sullivan (guest star Michael Clark Duncan), who questions the validity of the evidence. Mac is torn between trusting science or his desire to help a man facing jail time who swears he's innocent. Also, when a barely clad woman is killed by a truck early one morning, the team investigates why she was running through the streets and from whom. "The Closer" was written by Pam Veasey and directed by Emilio Estevez.

Quinn Sullivan: "I'm a big man."

[Text-over: 'CSI: NY. Wednesday']

[Close-up of Quinn Sullivan as he talks to Mac in prison.]

Sullivan: "My eyes are set too close together."

[Mac sits back and listens.]

[Flashback of two people struggling.]

[Flashback: the camera pulls back to reveal one of them is a woman. Someone is grabbing her by the hands.]

[Close-up of Sullivan in the present as he tells the story.]

Sullivan: "And my voice is too deep to speak the truth."

[Flashback: the woman is sliding down the emergency stairwell off the side of a building. She's running away from someone.]

WHAT THIS CONVICT IS ABOUT TO CONFESS

[Close-up of Sullivan. He's wearing a suit and tie, and looking too serious.]

[Flashback: The female victim runs down the street. She's wearing a pink dress.]

[Close-up of her feet as she runs. She's barefooted.]

[Mac addresses Sullivan.]

Mac: "If you have something to tell me, say it now."

[Flashback: The woman continues to run. As the camera focuses on her face we see how scared she is.]

[Close-up of Sullivan as he musters up the courage to talk.]

WILL BLOW THIS MURDER CASE WIDE OPEN

[Flashback: The woman is now running down an alley.]

[Flashback: A few trucks are rushing down the street when she runs in front of one of them.]

[Flashback: Close-up on the trucker's feet as he hits the breaks.]

[Flashback: The woman looks back as the truck nears.]

[Flashback: The trucker isn't able to stop the truck in time and runs over her.]

[Close up of Mac as he addresses Sullivan in prison.]

Mac: "That changes everything."

[Mac and Sullivan are talking in prison. Only a glass panel separates them.]

[Close-up of Sullivan now in civilian clothes.]

[Flash of the subway as it rushes by.]

[At a baseball stadium, a man waits for the pitch. He slams his bat into the ball.]

[The ball goes flying in the air. In the stands, the people fight each other over who's going to catch it.]

[Close-up on them as they hold their hands and baseball mitts in the air.]

[A man wearing a Boston jacket jumps in the air jovially.]

[In the garage, a man throws something at someone.]

[He hits the Boston fan.]

[The Boston fan goes down, his foam finger still in place.]

[Danny is at the crime scene. The Boston fan is now inside a car, dead.]

Danny: "He doesn't make it out of the parking lot."

[Aiden is on the other side of the car.]

Aiden: "Kind of extreme."

[Close-up of Stella.]

Stella: "Three strikes."

[Danny pitches a ball three times. He's trying to determine what happened to the Boston fan]

[Flash: picture of a few hundred micro-organisms.]

[Flash: a piece of slimy meat sits on the table.]

[Flash: We see the logo of a bar. The name isn't shown.]

[Flash: close-up of a baseball.]

[Danny is in the interrogation room, holding a baseball. He addresses a suspect.]

Danny: "You're out."
