IDW Publishing has revealed the plot of the new CSI comic book.

In this series, entitled Dying In The Gutters, real life meets CSI meets the world of comics. Rich Johnston, a real life comics gossip columnist, is found dead, and because his job came with the unfortunate byproduct of enraging comic publishers, editors, and creators, the list of suspects is large, and full of real life people.

"With Dying In The Gutters, we're looking to offer up a story that not only gives fans of the CSI show a clever murder investigation, but also provides something more for fans of comics in general," said IDW’s Publisher/Editor-in-Chief/Suspect Chris Ryall.

He continued, "This story would never work without so many great creators willing to appear in the book and let us play with their public personas a bit, so it's a testament to them that this is happening at all. And to Rich, of course, who was quite gracious in letting us do to him what so many others have wanted to do—kill him off."

Dying In The Gutters will be five parts long, and will see Gil Grissom and his team infiltrate a Las Vegas comic convention in order to find Johnston's killer. The first part of the series will be available for purchase in August 2006.

Why can't the CSIs get dates?

	All work and no play makes Greg a blue boy.
	It probably has something to do with the fact that every time Horatio Caine has sex with a woman, she dies.
	Shower sex loses its allure when there's lemons involved.
	These people collect body fluids for a living. Then again, if David the coroner can get laid...
	They can get dates, I bet. We just don't see it.
	Three words: Hank the Skank.
