Arizona Central ran an article about summer television, noting that rather than airing new reality shows, dramas, or comedies, CBS would contine to show reruns of top-rated shows like CSI and Without a Trace. CBS CEO Les Moonves contends that even reruns of these shows outperform reality TV in the ratings.
The New Jersey Star Ledger has printed several letters from readers criticizing David Caruso's (Horatio Caine) performance in comparison to that of Gary Sinise (Mac Taylor).
The Floridian's television critic Eric Deggans mentioned CSI: Crime Scene Investigation in an article about how television's top-rated shows are no longer its best. While reality TV drew the harshest criticism, Deggans commented that CSI, while "TV's top-rated show, is hardly considered TV's best drama."
According to the Palm Beach Post, David Caruso regaled fans with tales from CSI: Miami while waiting at the international arrivals gate at Miami International Airport. Caruso, who was carrying a bouquet of yellow roses, even posed for pictures with fans.
