CSI: Crime Scene Investigation came in a solid third place on Thursday. The two-hour season finale of Lost came in first place with an average of 11.89 million viewers in the 9:00pm hour and a rating/share of 4.5/13 (4.7/12 at the half-hour). Behind Lost was So You Think You Can Dance?, which pulled in an average of 9.35 million viewers and 3.6/11 from 8:00-10:00pm. CSI's repeat had 8.70 million overall viewers and a 2.1/6 in the vital demographic.

For CBS, the season was down 17.2% in average viewer numbers and down 21.4% in the 18-49 demographic from last season. The network experienced the sharpest decline between January and the end of March, when the writers' strike had extra repeats on the air. The overall ratings went up from April onwards.
