Gary Sinise (CSI: New York’s Mac Taylor) posted a blog entry on the website for the Gary Sinise Foundation, in which he recounted the events of 9/11 from his perspective and described the profound effect that day had on him. Here is an excerpt:

I can most certainly say that what happened to our country on September 11, 2001 changed me forever. It forced me to rethink everything. What do I really believe? How do I want to raise my kids? What kind of example do I want to set for them? What can I do to give back to this great country I love? How can I use my good fortune to help?

It was a turning point and marked the beginning of my quest of service. From my first handshake tour for the USO, to forming the Lt. Dan Band to, most recently, establishing the Gary Sinise Foundation, I found that the more I gave, the more I healed. The efforts to support the building of two 9/11 memorials, The Pentagon Memorial and The Brooklyn Wall of Remembrance, were a special privilege. Throughout my journey, I’ve met so many extraordinary people that inspire me to continue to do more.

CSI: New York’s leading man Gary Sinise (Mac Taylor) posted a picture from Coney Island, where he filmed one of the Big Apple scenes that will be featured in the upcoming season eight premiere. On Monday, CSI: New York will film two scenes on location in New York City for the upcoming season eight premiere, which honors the tenth anniversary of 9/11. The scenes will feature the Brooklyn Wall of Remembrance, a memorial that pays tribute to those who lost their lives on September 11th. Leading man Gary Sinise (Mac Taylor) helped raise money to finish the wall in real life, and his character will put together a celebration for the memorial in the premiere.

CBS posted a picture from the set of CSI: New York featuring Gary Sinise (Mac Taylor), and actor Chevy Chase stopped by to say hello—you can see the image here. Omar Miller (Walter Simmons) and Eva La Rue (Natalia Boa Vista) each posed with CSI: Miami costar Rex Linn (Frank Tripp). The picture with La Rue and Linn features the “Hook em’ Horns” hand signal from the the University of Texas. Lastly, New York set designer Will Batts shared two pictures from the season premiere—the bathroom will appear in a flashback featuring Mac, and the pictures below show the medicine cabinet during construction and the final bathroom set.
