The ‘Hawaii Five-0′ Premiere Takes The Top Spot

As CSI Files previously reported, former CSI: New York executive producer Peter Lenkov is now the showrunner on the CBS reboot of Hawaii Five-0. The series debuted on Monday, September 20. The premiere episode won the 10:00pm timeslot with 13.83 million viewers and a 3.8 rating/10 share in the key 18-49 demographic prized by advertisers.

Lenkov Prepares To ‘Book ‘em, Danno’

As CSI Files previously reported, executive producer Peter Lenkov is leaving CSI: New York to helm the new CBS remake of Hawaii Five-0. “CBS asked if I’d be interested in coming up with a new take on the series,” Lenkov told The Suburban. “It was my dad’s favorite show. That’s primarily why I took the gig.”

The series will star Alex O’Loughlin (Moonlight, Three Rivers) as Detective Steve McGarrett, Daniel Dae Kim (Lost) as Chin Ho Kelly and Scott Caan as Detective Danny “Danno” Williams. But can fans expect to hear O’Loughlin’s character utter the famous line, “Book ‘em, Danno” on a regular basis? “Of course,” Lenkov promised.

Reiter Signs Two-Year Deal With CBS Studios

CSI: New York co-executive producer Zachary Reiter signed a deal with CBS Studios for two years. He will take over for exiting executive producer Peter Lenkov (who will now serve as EP on the new CBS series Hawaii Five-0), working under New York showrunner Pam Veasey. Reiter will also develop for the studio.

‘Miami’ & ‘New York’ Get New Timeslots In The Fall

During the CBS upfronts, the network announced the fall schedule for the 2010-2011 season. CSI: Crime Scene Investigation will remain at 9:00pm ET/PT on Thursdays, but CSI: Miami and CSI: New York will move to new nights. Miami will air Sundays at 10:00pm ET/PT, and New York will move to an earlier hour on its new night, airing at 9:00pm ET/PT on Fridays. “We believe television’s #1 network just got stronger,” said CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler. “New series will be launched behind proven hits and key scheduling moves will help grow nights.”

Manning Joins ‘Hawaii Five-O’ Remake

CSI Files previously reported that CSI: New York executive producer Peter Lenkov was working on a remake of the classic series Hawaii Five-O for CBS. Alex O’Loughlin (Moonlight) and Daniel Dae Kim (Lost) have already been confirmed as the actors portraying Detective Steve McGarrett and Detective Chin Ho Kelly. Actress Taryn Manning is the latest addition to the cast. She will play McGarrett’s younger sister Mary Ann. Manning’s filmography is available on IMDb.com.

CSI Files previously reported that former Moonlight and Three Rivers star Alex O’Loughlin was being considered for the lead role in the upcoming CBS remake of the classic series Hawaii Five-O. It has now been confirmed that O’Loughlin will play Detective Steve McGarrett in the reboot, which features CSI: New York showrunner Peter Lenkov and Star Trek writers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci as executive producers. O’Loughlin is the second actor to be cast—Lost‘s Daniel Dae Kim will portray one of McGarrett’s sidekicks, Detective Chin Ho Kelly.

CSI Files previously reported that CSI: New York executive producer Peter Lenkov was working on a reboot of the classic CBS series Hawaii Five-O. There was a rumour that Moonlight and Three Rivers star Alex O’Loughlin was being considered for the show’s leading role, but there has been no word on that particular casting choice. However, CBS has revealed who will play sidekick Detective Chin Ho Kelly in the new series: Lost actor Daniel Dae Kim. Kim is the first core actor from the ABC drama to sign on for a new show in anticipation of Lost‘s upcoming series finale.
