Actor and author Hill Harper (CSI: New York’s Dr Sheldon Hawkes) has teamed up with teen author Pamela Wells to start Harper & Wells Books, a publishing house dedicated to multicultural children’s titles. “My focus is on publishing books about black issues,” Harper told Publishers Weekly. “I have always wanted a children’s book imprint that represents our voices. This is an extension of my belief that you manifest your own destiny in life.”

The first book that will be released by Harper & Wells is The Wiley Boys by Harper. The middle-grade novel centers around a trio of adopted brothers who love sports and become junior agents for the Sports Bureau of Investigations.

Actor and author Hill Harper (CSI: New York’s Dr Sheldon Hawkes) received two nominations for the upcoming 43rd NAACP Image Awards. He’s up for “Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series” for his role on New York, and his latest book The Wealth Cure is nominated in the “Outstanding Literary Work – Non-Fiction” category. The award ceremony will air February 17 on Fox, and you can find a full list of nominees on the official website.

The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Foundation is currently holding eBay auctions featuring items and experiences for fans of various television programmes. One of the items up for bid is a lab coat signed by the cast of CSI: New York, including Gary Sinise (Mac Taylor), Sela Ward (Jo Danville), Anna Belknap (Lindsay Messer), Carmine Giovinazzo (Danny Messer), Hill Harper (Dr Sheldon Hawkes), Eddie Cahill (Don Flack), AJ Buckley (Adam Ross) and Robert Joy (Dr Sid Hammerback). The auction runs through November 18, and all proceeds will go to the Emmys Foundation.

CSI: New York actor Hill Harper (Dr Sheldon Hawkes) is making his directorial debut with a short romantic thriller called The Truth. The film stars Jensen Atwood, Mel Jackson, Diandra Lyle, Terisa Griffin, Dwight Eubanks, Eric Lane and Rockmond Dunbar. The plot revolves around a man who “suspecting that his wife has been unfaithful and demanding to know the truth, receives news that devastates their marriage and forever changes their lives, while imparting an important life lesson.” The Truth is debuting at the Chicago International Film Festival, and you can find a trailer embedded after the jump!
