Jaclyn Smith Visits ‘CSI’
Wednesday, February 8th, 2012Interview: Brad Tanenbaum
Monday, February 6th, 2012Prior to CSI: Crime Scene Investigation‘s premiere in 2000, it’s safe to say viewers had no clue what the inside of a human body looked like–at least what it looks like after being struck by a bullet. Twelve years later, CSI has introduced viewers to a smorgasbord of fascinating and intricate technical shots, thanks in large part to Co-Producer Brad Tanenbaum. Since CSI‘s inception, Tanenbaum has helped mold the look of various visual effects seen on the show and, for the past several seasons, take on more of a commanding role serving as one of the show’s in-house directors. With his thirteenth credit coming up this Wednesday, Tanenbaum chats with CSI Files’ Shane Saunders about challenging effects, how technology on the show has changed, and tease his latest episode. (Spoilers after the jump!)

Gustin Had ‘A Lot Of Fun’ Playing Twins On ‘Miami’
Tuesday, January 31st, 2012Glee actor Grant Gustin guest-starred in the latest episode of CSI: Miami, “Terminal Velocity”, and he played a dual role as twins Trent and Scott. This required Gustin to film each part separately, with a silent stand-in as a scene partner. They switched back and forth until Gustin filmed all of Trent and Scott’s lines. “It was so weird,” the actor told Red Eye Chicago, “like doing a scene with no one saying anything to you in response. But it was a lot of fun.”
“For some reason the way it worked out, at least the last day of filming when I was doing the heavy scene with myself, I was running back and forth changing I think two or three times between twins,” Gustin continued. That required different costumes and makeup for each character. “So we were running back and forth and doing each frame as quickly as possible. It was fun and exciting switching back and forth.”
The original interview includes more information about Gustin’s role on Miami, and you can find it on RedEyeChicago.com.
