Interview: Paul Guilfoyle

Since CSI: Crime Scene Investigation‘s first episode nearly twelve years ago, Paul Guilfoyles Captain Jim Brass has put forth a sarcastic edge and tough demeanor, a personality unlike any other member of the CSI team. A struggling father trying to reach out to his troubled daughter, the character has had his share of personal and work-related problems over the course of the series, but in real life his alter ego is a successful actor, family man, and friend. In a season filled with comings and goings, Guilfoyle talks with Shane Saunders to discuss his future involvement with the series, the character’s complex history, and who he thinks is a perfect fit as the former Mrs. Brass (hint: it’s not a female).

Cast & Crew Share More ‘CSI’ & ‘CSI:NY’ Pics

Gary Sinise (Mac Taylor) shared a cast photo with the rest of his CSI: New York costars, as well as a picture of himself signing scripts. CSI: Crime Scene Investigation directors Frank Waldeck and Jeffrey Hunt posted some images from the set of the crime drama, including a photo of Consulting Producer Dustin Lee Abraham. CBS shared a picture of Ted Danson (DB Russell) on the cover of Emmy magazine. Jon Wellner (Henry Andrews) posted an image of himself and several other CSI stars alongside the Lorax (the Dr Seuss character from the upcoming 3D animated film). CSI guest star Brandon Jones (Charlie Russell) also posed with the Lorax, and he shared a second photo from the set as well. Producer Jerry Bruckheimer posted a picture of a series of cars that will be featured during a flashback to the 1950s. (Bruckheimer indicates that this image is from CSI: Miami, but the photo may actually be from an upcoming episode of CSI: NY.) You can find all the thumbnails embedded after the jump!

As CSI Files previously reported, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation’s former leading lady Marg Helgenberger (Catherine Willows) was honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this past Monday, January 23. ‘CSI’ Searches For Fishburne’s Replacement

As CSI Files previously reported, Laurence Fishburne (Dr Ray Langston) decided not to renew his contract with CSI: Crime Scene Investigation for the show’s upcoming twelfth season. Producer Jerry Bruckheimer told Zap2It that the hunt is on for an actor who can take Fishburne’s place on the crime drama. “We’re kicking around a whole bunch of ideas,” he explained. “Hopefully, we’ll come up with somebody who will keep the show on for quite a bit longer.”

All three CSI series were renewed for the 2011-2012 season, and Bruckheimer is happy that the shows will remain on the schedule. “We’re very fortunate that they still have wide audiences,” he said, “and that CBS is still excited about putting them on the air.”

Director Jeffrey Hunt also shared a CSI picture, which offers fans a glimpse behind-the-scenes as the season eleven finale is “cut”. AJ Buckley posted an image of the back windshield of his race car for the Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race, which was decorated with the CSI: New York logo. CBS posted a picture of Adam Rodriguez (Eric Delko) behind the scenes of tonight’s episode, “Hunting Ground”, which he wrote and directed.
