As CSI Files previously reported, the eighth season of CSI: New York will honor the tenth anniversary of 9/11 in the premiere episode, which airs Friday, September 23 at 9:00pm ET/PT. The premiere will feature a tribute to those who died on that fateful day, and fans will learn where the CSIs were during the attack. (Spoilers after the jump!)

Filming is underway for CSI: Miami and CSI: New York, and the actors have wasted no time Tweeting pictures from the set. Hill Harper (Dr Sheldon Hawkes) posted a picture of himself with CSI: NY’s leading lady Sela Ward (Jo Danville), and you can find that image here. CSI: New York’s newest cast member Sela Ward (Jo Danville) shared several pictures on Twitter. The first image features Ward alongside costars Carmine Giovinazzo (Danny Messer), Anna Belknap (Lindsay Monroe), Gary Sinise (Mac Taylor) and Eddie Cahill (Don Flack). The second picture includes Ward’s makeup artist Bernadette, who has been working with the actress for 16 years. The third image was taken while filming on location in the Big Apple. E! Online will post an interview with the producers of CSI: New York in January, but for now the site offered a small tease for fans of Danny (Carmine Giovinazzo) and Lindsay (Anna Belknap) Messer. (Minor spoiler ahead!) “You’ll be happy to know in an upcoming episode Lindsay and Danny work to decipher a puzzle hidden inside a New York landmark,” a producer told Watch With Kristin.
