Criminal Minds wraps up season eleven tonight at 9:00pm ET/PT, followed by a new episode of Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders. You can find sneak peeks, quotes, tweets and photos below!
Here’s the first clip from the Criminal Minds finale, “The Storm”, featuring Dr Spencer Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler), David Rossi (Joe Mantegna), Dr Tara Lewis (Aisha Tyler), Penelope Garcia (Kirsten Vangsness), JJ Jareau (AJ Cook), Will LaMontagne (Josh Stewart), Henry LaMontagne (Mekhai Andersen) and Jack Hotchner (Cade Owens). TV Line shared the clip of Hotch getting arrested at the start of the finale, which you can watch here. It features Hotch, Jack, JJ, Henry and guest star Matt Battaglia (Captain Grant Howard).
TV Guide offered hints about who is behind Hotch’s arrest. Antonia Slade (Frances Fisher, “Devil’s Backbone”) and Peter Lewis/Mr Scratch (Bodhi Elfman, “Mr Scratch”) are back for the finale, but there’s someone else involved—an unsub fans saw earlier this season.
Executive Producer Erica Messer spoke to TV Guide about the finale and the return of Mr Scratch, who tortured Hotch last season. “I don’t want to say Hotch is the center of [the finale], but it has a lot to do with Hotch,” she said. “It’s not as visual as the first [Mr. Scratch] episode, but it’s a big team episode.”
Messer also spoke to TV Line about the finale, and here’s the quote:
It’s a very team-centric episode, because ‘stuff’ is hitting the fan and we’re at the center of it. And we’re doing a [finale] cliffhanger of sorts, which we haven’t done in forever. It’s not a ‘bomb goes off/who survives?’ cliffhanger, but, ‘Oh my god, we thought we won,’ and by the end it’s, ‘Oh no, we’re just getting started.’ It’s a really fun, fresh way to launch into Season 12.
