Take A Peek At Tonight’s ‘NCIS:LA’

4 min read

NCIS: Los Angeles airs the second episode of the season, “Inelegant Heart”, tonight at 9:59pm ET/PT. Here’s a tweet from LL Cool J (Sam Hanna), who will co-host Entertainment Tonight. (Check for local listings here.)

You can find sneak peeks, interviews and photos after the jump! (Edited to add three more interviews and one more photo.)

First, here’s a clip from “Inelegant Heart”, featuring Sam and G Callen (Chris O’Donnell). (You can also find it on CBS.com, CBS Press Express and SpoilerTV.)

And here’s another sneak peek from the episode, which features Kensi Blye (Daniela Ruah), Marty Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) and Eric Beale (Barrett Foa). (It’s also available on CBS.com, CBS Press Express and SpoilerTV.)

Olsen spoke to TV Fanatic about what’s coming up in season six, including this comment about “Inelegant Heart”:

TVF: I know in the episode there’s something going on with Hetty and the case this week. How does your character fold into either one of those story threads?

ECO: I think it’s kind of the best version. My favorite kind of version of storytelling for our show, which is that there’s, instead of an A story and a B story, there’s about four stories. And Hetty has been taken by the DOJ, Department of Justice, and is being kind of grilled for her role in Afghanistan about the white ghost, about Kensi and there’s a cover-up and they want to know where the money came from. So, she’s really being grilled, and in the meantime, someone has bought personal information about Hetty because they’re coming for her.

So, we’re tracking that down, you’re dealing with Kensi and her own kind of struggle with what happened in Afghanistan and her past, and relationship. It’s a really incredibly, layered is the B-minus word, but there is a, there’s a lot of interwoven plot line in this episode. It’s a really good episode.

Olsen also spoke to Zap2It about what’s coming up. Here’s an excerpt:

They bring in a member of the Department of Justice to do interviews with everybody on the team and Kensi has to do an interview. They drill her about her role in not apprehending the White Ghost and what that relationship was. She’s an incredibly strong character, but that scene breaks her a bit because it puts into question a lot of choices that she’s made. Then she comes out and Deeks and Kensi have one of my favorite scenes where they have a really honest conversation about dealing with the after effects of these traumatic events.

Here’s another interview with Olsen, this time from Examiner.com. Check out the excerpt below, which relates to the storyline in which someone is selling information about Hetty, and the Department of Justice investigates:

For that, they sent in a great guest star, Aisha Hinds, and she is sent to interview everyone who is involved to find out who is buying this private information of Hetty’s, what they’re planning on doing with it, what is the purpose of finding out where she lives, and what they want of her. So she is interviewing Sam Hanna, which is actually one of my favorite scenes in the episode, where they are driving through the streets of Los Angeles in a shootout while she is interviewing him.

Olsen told Entertainment Weekly that Kensi is rattled by her interview with Hinds’ character. “She takes the bait and goes to an emotional place, because they’re essentially drilling her about Jack and about her role in Afghanistan and why specifically she was used,” he explained, adding that it leads to a heart-to-heart between Kensi and Deeks.

In an interview with TV Guide, Olsen offered several teases about what’s coming up in season six. Regarding the relationship between Deeks and Kensi, he had this to say:

It’s easy to be friends with people and to love people when everything’s good. It’s when things fall to pieces and we have to put them back together, and the people that we choose to put them back together with, that matter the most. And that’s kind of what Deeks and Kensi have become for each other. I think that’s part of the definition of a great relationship. … There’s anger and there’s comedy and there’s humor and there’s a flash of honesty and then the gate’s wide open. … It’s the ones with the highest walls that, when they come down, come down in the most kind of glorious way.
