Danson & Ratzenberger Reunite On ‘CSI’

As CSI Files previously reported, John Ratzenberger will guest star in tonight’s episode of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, “Torch Song”. He was one of the stars of Cheers from 1982-1993, along with CSI’s leading man Ted Danson (DB Russell). Filming “Torch Song” allowed the actors to reunite, both onscreen and off. (Spoilers after the jump!)

Danson was excited to see Ratzenberger on the CSI set. “First off, it was like, ‘We haven’t seen each other in a while. What’s this going to be like?'” Danson told Zap2It. “I was a bit nervous, but it was like falling off a log and getting back on. It was so sweet. We hung out in my trailer between shots and just reminisced and caught up with each other.”

Working with Danson was “such a treat” for Ratzenberger. He added, “Even running into him at the local supermarket is a treat. He’s just a genuinely great guy, and as a leading man—and I realized this very quickly on Cheers—he sets the whole tone. Anybody lucky enough to have worked with Ted knows he sets a terrific pace. He’s a very generous actor, and I’m lucky to count him as a friend.”
