Harper Chosen For President’s Cancer Panel

On Wednesday, the White House announced that President Barack Obama intends to appoint Hill Harper (CSI: New York’s Dr Sheldon Hawkes) to the President’s Cancer Panel. According to the National Cancer Institute website:

The Panel shall monitor the development and execution of the activities of the National Cancer Program, and shall report directly to the President. Any delays or blockages in rapid execution of the Program shall immediately be brought to the attention of the President.

Harper graduated magna cum laude from Brown University in 1988. He also earned JD (cum laude) and MPA degrees from Harvard University. In addition to his success as an actor, Harper has written four books. His latest book, The Wealth Cure: Putting Money in Its Place, includes insight gained from his battle with thyroid cancer back in 2010.
