Recap ‘CSI:NY’ Season 7 & Take A Peek At Season 8

2 min read

CSI: New York fans can take a look back at the end of season seven and take a look forward at the upcoming season eight premiere. (Embedded video and spoilers after the jump!)

As CSI: NY’s seventh season came to a close, Mac Taylor (Gary Sinise) found himself questioning his future with the New York Crime Lab:

Following a near-death experience, Mac closed out his last remaining cold case and realized he needed to make a decision about whether to remain a CSI. Meanwhile, Danny [Messer, Carmine Giovinazzo] revealed he took the Sergeant’s exam which would put him in line for a promotion that would take him away from the lab.

Here’s a video recap from CBS to refresh your memory about the last two episodes of the season, “Life Sentence” and “Exit Strategy”.

The season eight premiere of New York, “Indelible”, will air on Friday, September 23 at 9:00pm ET/PT. Here’s the synopsis for the episode:

On the 10th anniversary of 9/11, Mac and the team remember specific moments from that day that were indelibly burned in their mind.

Mac lost his wife Claire on September 11th, and “Indelible” will feature her in flashbacks. She will be played by Jaime Ray Newman. As executive producer Zack Reiter told TV Line, the main purpose of the flashbacks isn’t to emphasize the tragic loss Mac experienced on that day, but “to see the smile on Mac’s face, and the love that he had in those moments.”

The episode will also feature a memorial that honors the 416 first responders who lost their lives in New York City on 9/11. “Gary Sinise came to me and the other writers wanting to do something that revolved around 9/11—specifically featuring the Brooklyn Wall of Remembrance, a project that Gary had an enormous involvement in,” Reiter told TV Line. “Apparently they were about halfway through building it when they ran out of money, and Gary and his Lt Dan Band were instrumental in helping to raise funds to complete the project.”
