Helgenberger: The ‘CSI’ Phenomenon Is Undeniable
Wednesday, March 30th, 2011CSI: Crime Scene Investigation is still number one in France, and the country recently started airing the tenth season on TV. “Thinking that we are still number one in so many countries, like yours, after eleven years is exhilarating,” leading lady Marg Helgenberger (Catherine Willows) told TVMag. “The CSI phenomenon is undeniable.”
“I measure the popularity of our show when I travel in Europe,” the actress continued. “People are so excited when they see me. I’m easy to spot because I’m a redhead and I almost look the same way in real life as I do on screen. I’m much more recognized in other countries than in Los Angeles actually. Although I still leave quite an impression when I visit smaller places in the U.S.!”

Ward Joined ‘New York’ For The ‘Challenge’
Tuesday, March 29th, 2011Sela Ward joined the cast of CSI: New York because the character of Jo Danville was a departure from her usual roles. “It is very different from what I have done before and that’s why I decided to give it a shot,” the actress told Sun2Surf. “For me, that’s the way you keep growing, when you challenge yourself and do things you have never done before.”
“I really love who Jo is. She is a strong, smart woman and I love her sense of humour,” Ward added. However, CSI: NY concentrates on the crimes, and details about the characters’ lives are revealed slowly over time. “[Y]ou don’t really find out everything about the characters because that is the nature of the show,” the actress explained, “so you don’t really get to the underbelly of who they are.”
The full interview is available from Sun2Surf.
