‘New York’ Considers Romance For Newcomer Jo Danville

1 min read

CSI: New York’s latest addition, Jo Danville (Sela Ward), might be torn between a coworker and a man from her past later this season. (Spoilers after the jump!)

As CSI Files previously reported, JAG actor David James Elliott has been cast to play Russ Josephson, Jo’s FBI agent ex-husband and the father of their college-aged son, Tyler. When the character first appears on New York in 2011, fans will see the chemistry between them. “I think he wants Jo back—and there is electricity,” Elliott told TV Guide. “Russ refers to their divorce as a ‘separation.'”

Russ may want to get back together with his ex-wife, but Ward explained that Jo “must move forward.” She added that there is a “subtle flirtation” between Jo and leading man Mac Taylor (Gary Sinise). “Mac’s captivated by Jo’s wonderful Southern charm,” Sinise said. “She has a unique way about her that is infectious.”

Russ and Mac provide two possible romantic interests for Jo. However, executive producer Pam Veasey isn’t in a hurry to put Jo in a relationship with either man. “The audience will give us the signal when to go forward,” Veasey explained, “but we like that there’s chemistry and I think you’ll see it evolve.”
