CSI: Crime Scene Investigation was awarded the International Television Audience Award for a Drama TV Series for 2009 at the 50th Monte Carlo TV Festival on June 10. There were fifteen nominees that represented the best imported fiction programmes in 68 countries, which have a combined potential viewership of nearly 1.7 billion people. CSI has earned the award three times during the award’s five year history.
The International Audience Awards are presented by the Monte Carlo TV Festival and Eurodata TV Worldwide, and they recognize the programmes that delivered the highest ratings worldwide across five continents during the previous year. There are three categories: Drama TV Series, Comedy TV Series and Telenovelas/Soap Operas.
