Friday, December 18th, 2009The latest episode of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, “Better Off Dead”, is the last new episode to air before the new year. CSI won its timeslot on Thursday, December 17 with 15.54 million overall viewers and a 3.5 rating/10 share in the key 18-49 demographic. NBC was second for the night with Saturday Night Live Presents: A Very Gilly Christmas, which pulled in 7.68 million viewers and 3.2/9 in the 9:00pm hour. ABC aired two repeats of Grey’s Anatomy from 8:00-10:00pm, earning an average of 3.97 million viewers 1.1/3 among adults 18-49. A repeat of Fringe on Fox was fourth with 3.93 million viewers, although its 18-49 score (1.2/4) tied it for third place in the demo during the 9:00pm hour. The CW aired two repeats of Vampire Diaries from 8:00-10:00pm, pulling in an average of 1.87 million viewers 0.8/2.

Fishburne Cast In New ‘Predators’ Film
Thursday, December 17th, 2009CSI: Crime Scene Investigation‘s leading man Laurence Fishburne (Dr Ray Langston) has been cast in the upcoming Predators movie. Fishburne plays a character named Noland, but nothing else has been revealed about the role so far. Predators is currently filming in Austin, Texas, and the movie will be released in theaters July, 2010.
Monahan Called On A Friend To Prepare For ‘New York’ Role
Thursday, December 17th, 2009When it was time for Train frontman Pat Monahan to guest star in the latest episode of CSI: New York, “Second Chances”, the musician called on friend and actor Marc Blucas to help him prepare for the role. “Marc coached me through my reading. I did really well because of Marc,” Monahan said. “He’s a great actor and has such a great sense for scripts. He’s like a superstar to me.” Blucas described Monahan as “a wildly talented artist.” He added, “It’s hard to say you’re jealous of your friends, but he has enviable talent.”
‘CSI’ Receives ASC Nomination
Thursday, December 17th, 2009The American Society of Cinematographers announced their nominees in two television categories for the upcoming 24th Annual ASC Outstanding Achievement Awards. The winners will be revealed at a celebration on February 27, 2010 in Los Angeles, California. Christian Sebaldt was nominated in the episodic television category for his work on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation‘s tenth season premiere, “Family Affair”.
“The rapid evolution of high-definition televisions in homes has made the role cinematographers play in creating content for episodic television more challenging and more important than ever,” said ASC Awards Committee Chairman Richard Crudo. “All of the nominees artfully helped to transport audiences to fantasy worlds.” The other cinematographers acknowledged in the category are Eagle Egilsson (Dark Blue, TNT), Jeffrey Jur (FlashForward, ABC), Michael Price (Ugly Betty, ABC) and Glen Winter (Smallville, CW).

The Final ‘New York’ Episode Of 2009 Emerges On Top
Thursday, December 17th, 2009The latest episode of CSI: New York, “Second Chances”, ended 2009 on a high note Wednesday, December 16. The episode featured guest appearances from Pat Monahan (from the rock band Train), Kim Kardashian, Vanessa Minnillo and Lala Vazquez. “Second Chances” pulled in 13.50 million viewers and a 3.1 rating/9 share in the important 18-49 demographic. These numbers were more than enough to put New York ahead of the competition. The Jay Leno Show was second in the hour with 5.46 million and 1.6/5, and a new episode of the cancelled ABC series Eastwick was third with 3.68 million viewers and 1.3/4 among adults 18-49.

Fans Unite To ‘Save Eric Delko’
Wednesday, December 16th, 2009It was previously reported that Adam Rodriguez would be leaving CSI: Miami, and his character Eric Delko has appeared on a recurring basis so far this season. Fans of the character and actor have set up a website called Save Eric Delko to show their support and let their voices be heard. The group has also created a Twitter account and a Facebook page for fans to join.

Tuesday, December 15th, 2009The latest episode of CSI: Miami, “Delko for the Defense”, was the last new Miami episode before 2010 gets underway. “Delko for the Defense” pulled in 14.06 million viewers on Monday, December 14, putting it ahead of The Jay Leno Show (4.77 million) and a repeat of Castle (4.30 million) on ABC. In the key 18-49 demographic prized by advertisers, Miami earned a 4.1 rating/11 share to beat Leno (1.5/4) and Castle (1.2/3).
