Friday, October 2nd, 2009In the second week of the new season, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation shared the win with Grey’s Anatomy in the 9:00pm hour on Thursday, October 1. “Ghost Town” pulled in 15.60 million viewers, putting it ahead of Grey’s 15.36 million. In the crucial 18-49 demographic prized by advertisers, Grey’s beat CSI with 6.0/15 to 4.0/10. Rounding out the hour was NBC’s combination of The Office (7.28 million, 3.7/10) and Community (5.84 million, 2.9/ 7), Fringe on Fox (6.21 million, 2.3/ 6) and Supernatural (2.57 million, 1.2/ 3).

Frye Wears Purple Best
Thursday, October 1st, 2009As CSI Files previously reported, CSI: New York star Melina Kanakaredes (Stella Bonasera) took part in the “Who Wears Purple Best?” competition to support Alzheimer’s education and research. The poll drew more than 65,000 voters before it ended yesterday, September 30. Actress Soleil Moon Frye was crowned the winner.

Ratings Down, But Top Spot Belongs To ‘New York’
Thursday, October 1st, 2009During the second week of season six, CSI: New York remained in the top spot in the 10:00pm hour on Wednesday, September 30 with “Blacklist (Featuring Hangman)”. The episode pulled in 12.87 million viewers and a 3.2 rating/9 share in the important 18-49 demographic. This was down considerably from the season premiere, which earned 14.57 million overall viewers. Despite the drop from week to week, New York easily beat the competition to win the hour. Eastwick had 6.62 million viewers and 2.4/7 among adults 18-49, and NBC’s The Jay Leno Show pulled in 5.99 million viewers and a 1.9/ 5 in the key demo.
